Jack Soutter completed his Bachelor of Science and Masters of Research at the University of Southern Queensland before joining the university’s staff as a senior technical officer for the Mt Kent Observatory. He has been responsible of the development and installation of a number of projects at the Mt Kent Observatory including the MINERVA-Australis telescope array, and the Shared Skies partnership. Jack has also been involved in a number of large research collaborations and follow-up campaigns for projects such as the Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite (TESS), Kilodegree Extremely Little Telescope (KELT), and Kelper.

Jack is currently involved in a number of research projects based out of the Mt Kent Observatory:
  • The MINERVA-Australis telescope array
  • The Shared Skies partnership
  • The Stellar Oscillation Network Group (SONG)
  • The German Space Agency’s (DLR) Australian node of the SmartNET program
  • Exoplanet discovery
  • Statistical Analysis
  • Small body solar system dynamics
  • Instrumentation development
